Apart from artist histories and an illustrated discography, the book looks at the folk clubs that existed in Bristol in the 1960s and 1970s, from the Troubadour club, which put Bristol firmly on the folk map between 1966 and 1971, to less well-known, but equally-missed clubs, such as White on Black, Folk Blues Bristol & West and many more. The main two record labels, Saydisc and Village Thing are also discussed.
