“Bristol folk” is a discographical history of Bristol folk music in the 1960s and ‘70s. The book has been written by the owner of VinylAttic and results from 40+ years of listening.
It features all the recording artists on the Bristol folk scene: from Ian Anderson's
country blues to the manic 1930s jazz of the Pigsty Hill Light Orchestra; from Adge
Cutler's novelty rural folk to the sophisticated bedsit images of Shelagh McDonald;
from the rustic rock of Stackridge to the folk-
It also includes unpublished photographs from the artists' private collections plus an illustrated discography.
VinylAttic has compiled detailed discographies for Saydisc and related labels, Matchbox, Amon Ra, Roots and Village Thing.
Saydisc no longer has complete listings of releases, so the listings here now constitute the most comprehensive set available. VinylAttic offers thanks to Saydisc for help in compiling these lists.
VinylAttic would like to thank various people for help with this and that. The best way that I can thank them is to direct you to their various websites, so that you can buy direct from them...
